Doug Curtis, Editor and Co-Founder

Beginning in 2007, he launched the first of over 200 new products internationally, achieving 17 industry innovation & best product awards for four global brands. He knows the marketplace. As a product launch and lead generating solution marketer for B2B & B2C brands, he designs and manages digital marketing, content marketing, advertising, and video services.

No Great American Novel Here

Seeking to write a great American novel, Doug’s life became a wonderful adventure story. Imagine journeying by bus, Land Rover, train, sailboat, powerboat, and single-engine plane from Guadalajara to Machu Picchu to Nairobi to Kealakekua.

Backpacking, tent camping, and van camping through 67 US state and national parks, and scaring himself by canoeing in an early October blizzard in the Grand Tetons. Kayaking 86 miles through the Sea of Cortez with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), and naively cross-country skiing into a herd of wild Buffalo in Wyoming.

Then realizing, after all those experiences that burning the candle at both ends and having bizarre conversations with many peculiar storytellers at more than 1,000 campfires failed to produce the next great American novel!

Like many dreamy adventurers, he planned to sail from Hawaii to Polynesia, but he hasn’t made it yet. Instead, he moved from Kona to Ft. Lauderdale to sail a 46’ Nova Scotia schooner from Bermuda to St. Barts. He survived a few scary winter storms at sea, but he’s thankful for encountering mostly sunny skies and smooth sailing.

After owning a few boats, Doug realized he needed a better boat, so he had to go back to work to earn a bucket of money. That path led to his wonderful wife and two kids, so it was clearly the right decision.

As Doug’s career journey progressed, he worked as a filmmaker, TV producer and direct-response TV marketer producing over 800 half-hour TV shows and thousands of commercials. He stretched his limited patience at advertising agencies, business start-ups and corporate consulting.

One of his consulting clients was Dometic Corporation, and he was invited to join this international consumer-products company. As the VP of Marketing, Doug enjoyed designing new product-launch strategies to engage RV and marine buyers and successfully earning the company 17 innovation and best product awards, year over year revenue increases and eventually taking the company public.

Doug is delighted that the internet has become the new TV. Several like-minded entrepreneurs encouraged him to leverage his RV knowledge and experience to publish and produce stories for NetworkRV.com. Making Smart Buyers Smarter is NetworkRV’s mission.

People who love the outdoor lifestyle continuously encounter challenges and search for answers to their problems. NetworkRV’s mission addresses these issues and provides great new product information and reviews to share with consumers, dealers and other bloggers. In the coming year, Doug’s next outdoor adventure will be discovering new secret places for quiet thinking and extreme ocean kayak sailing.

In the meantime, he enjoys making new professional relationships, so contact him if you want to chat or discuss a project.
